How to deposit USDC to Hyperliquid before connecting a bot
CryptoBoost trades from your own Hyperliquid account, so that account needs a balance before you connect. In short: get USDC onto Hyperliquid, check it has arrived, then connect. Here is how, and what to watch for.
Why you need to deposit first
CryptoBoost never holds your money. It trades through an API wallet (also called an agent wallet) that you approve from your own Hyperliquid account. Hyperliquid will not accept that approval from an account that has never been funded.
If you try to connect an empty account, the app shows a "One step before connecting" notice. Nothing has gone wrong: deposit, wait until the balance shows on Hyperliquid, then connect again.
What you need
- A way to log in to Hyperliquid. Either an EVM wallet such as Rabby or MetaMask, or an email login on app.hyperliquid.xyz.
- USDC to deposit. Hyperliquid uses USDC as collateral for perpetual futures.
- A small amount of ETH on Arbitrum, if you deposit from Arbitrum with a wallet. It pays the gas for the deposit transaction. Trading on Hyperliquid itself has no gas fees.
Never share your wallet's seed phrase or private key with anyone, including CryptoBoost. No step in this guide asks for it.
How to deposit USDC from Arbitrum
- Get USDC and a little ETH on Arbitrum. Most centralised exchanges can withdraw both directly to Arbitrum. Choose Arbitrum One as the network when you withdraw.
- Open app.hyperliquid.xyz and connect. Choose your wallet, approve the connection, then press "Enable Trading" and sign the gas-free message.
- Press Deposit and choose USDC. Enter the amount and confirm the transaction in your wallet.
- Check your balance on Hyperliquid. Wait until the USDC shows in your Hyperliquid account before you go on.
Hyperliquid's deposit window also shows an address you can send USDC to from other networks (Ethereum, Base or Polygon), and accepts some other assets such as BTC, ETH and SOL. Other assets arrive as spot tokens and must be sold for USDC before they can back perpetual trades. The full list is in Hyperliquid's onboarding guide.
The minimums that matter
| Minimum | Set by | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| 5 USDC deposit | Hyperliquid | Smaller deposits are not credited to your account. |
| 10 USDC order | Hyperliquid | Orders smaller than this are rejected. |
| 20 USDT budget | CryptoBoost | Each entry uses about half your budget, so a smaller budget would place orders under Hyperliquid's minimum. |
The minimums tell you what works, not what is sensible for you. Decide your amount first with our allocation guide, and only deposit money you can afford to lose.
Common mistakes to avoid
- The wrong network. Sending USDC on a network Hyperliquid's deposit window does not list can lose the funds. Check the network name twice before you confirm a withdrawal.
- No ETH for gas. A wallet deposit from Arbitrum needs a small amount of ETH on Arbitrum. Without it, the transaction cannot be sent.
- Depositing less than 5 USDC. It will not be credited.
- Connecting before the balance arrives. Wait until your Hyperliquid balance shows the deposit, then connect.
- Using a different wallet. Connect CryptoBoost with the same wallet you deposited from. A deposit to one address does not fund another.
After the deposit: connect and choose a budget
Once your balance shows on Hyperliquid, sign in at app.cryptoboost.trade, connect your wallet and approve the API wallet. Then set your budget. The bot trades from your Hyperliquid balance, and you can revoke its access or withdraw your USDC from Hyperliquid at any time.
Hyperliquid's terms of use restrict access from some countries. Read them on app.hyperliquid.xyz before you deposit.
Common questions
Why can't I connect CryptoBoost before I deposit?
Hyperliquid does not accept an API wallet approval from an account that has never been funded. Deposit at least 5 USDC, wait until the balance shows on Hyperliquid, then connect again.
Can I deposit USDT instead of USDC?
Hyperliquid's perpetual futures use USDC as collateral. Deposit USDC from a supported network. Other assets that Hyperliquid accepts arrive as spot tokens and must be sold for USDC first.
Do I need ETH to trade on Hyperliquid?
Only to deposit. A wallet deposit from Arbitrum needs a small amount of ETH on Arbitrum for gas. Trading on Hyperliquid itself has no gas fees.
What is the minimum amount to start with CryptoBoost?
The CryptoBoost budget minimum is 20 USDT, because each entry uses about half your budget and Hyperliquid rejects orders under 10 USDC. The minimum is not a recommendation: choose an amount you can afford to lose.
Can I withdraw my USDC later?
Yes. Your funds stay in your own Hyperliquid account, so you can withdraw from Hyperliquid whenever you like. Withdrawals are signed by your own wallet; CryptoBoost cannot make or block them.
