How the performance fee works: 10% of monthly trading profit
CryptoBoost has no subscription and no management fee. Each month it bills 10% of the trading profit the bot made, and nothing in a month without profit. This guide shows exactly what is counted, with examples, and how to check your bill.
The rule
Fee = 10% × the bot's monthly trading profit, calculated before Hyperliquid trading fees and funding. If the monthly trading profit is zero or negative, the fee is zero.
There is no subscription, no management fee and nothing charged up front.
What counts as monthly trading profit
Only trades the bot has closed during the month are counted. Add up the profit and loss on each of them; the total is that month's trading profit.
- Wins minus losses. A month with 1,400 USDC of winning trades and 400 USDC of losing trades has a trading profit of 1,000 USDC.
- Open positions are not counted. A gain or loss on a position that is still open is unrealised. It is only counted in the month the position closes.
- Your deposits and withdrawals are not counted. Adding money to your account is not profit, and taking money out is not a loss.
Example: the bot closes trades with a net result of +1,000 USDC in January. Fee = 10% × 1,000 = 100 USDC.
Calculated before Hyperliquid fees and funding
Trading on Hyperliquid has its own costs: trading fees on each fill, and funding paid every hour on open positions. Hyperliquid charges these directly, not CryptoBoost, and CryptoBoost's fee does not depend on them. Here is how one month looks in full:
| Item | USDC |
|---|---|
| Trading profit from closed trades | +1,000 |
| Hyperliquid trading fees | −120 |
| Funding | −80 |
| Your profit after Hyperliquid costs | +800 |
| CryptoBoost fee: 10% × 1,000 | −100 |
| What you keep | +700 |
So 90% of the trading profit is yours, before Hyperliquid's costs. After those costs, CryptoBoost's fee is a somewhat larger share of what is left: 100 out of 800 here, or 12.5%. Funding can also be positive, which would reduce that gap.
Losing months, and what is not carried forward
If the month's trading profit is zero or negative, there is no fee. Each month is billed on its own, so a loss in one month is not subtracted from the next month's profit.
| Month | Trading profit | Fee (10%) |
|---|---|---|
| January | +500 | 50 |
| February | −300 | 0 |
| March | +400 | 40 |
| Total | +600 | 90 |
All figures in USDC. February's loss did not reduce March's fee, so over these three months the fees (90) are 15% of the net profit (600), not 10%. Some providers use a high-water mark, which carries losses forward so that fees are only charged on profit above the previous peak. CryptoBoost does not. Consider this when you compare fee models.
When you disconnect mid-month
If you disconnect your wallet part-way through a month, the same rule is applied to the trades the bot has closed so far that month.
Example: you disconnect on 12 May. The bot has closed trades with a net result of +120 USDC so far, so the final fee is 10% × 120 = 12 USDC. If the net result so far had been −50 USDC, the final fee would be zero.
How billing and payment work
CryptoBoost is non-custodial: the bot can trade your account but cannot move funds out of it. That also means it cannot deduct its own fee, so you pay it yourself.
- The bill is issued after the month ends. You will find it in your dashboard, and it is also sent to you by email. It shows the trading profit it is based on, the fee, the payment address and the payment deadline.
- Pay the bill in USDC, to the address and following the instructions shown on the bill, before the deadline it states.
- Check before you send. Only use payment details from your dashboard or from CryptoBoost's official emails, and check the address carefully. Crypto transfers can't be reversed.
If you pay from your Hyperliquid trading account, the payment will appear there as a transfer. It is not a trading loss. See how to verify fills and PnL.
How to check your bill
You can recalculate the bill from Hyperliquid's own records:
- List the trades closed during the billing month in your Hyperliquid Trade History.
- Add up their closed PnL (wins minus losses), without subtracting trading fees or funding.
- Multiply by 10%. If the total is zero or negative, there should be no fee. The result should match the fee on your bill.
Use exactly the same period as the bill. The full method for reading fills and closed PnL is in how to verify fills and PnL.
How this compares with other fee models
| Model | In a losing month you pay | Provider earns from |
|---|---|---|
| Subscription | The full subscription | Time you stay subscribed |
| Management fee (% of assets) | The full fee on your balance | Size of your balance |
| Fee on every order | A fee on every trade | Number and size of trades |
| Performance fee, each month on its own (CryptoBoost) | Nothing | Each month's trading profit |
| Performance fee with a high-water mark | Nothing, and no fee until earlier losses are recovered | New profit above the previous peak |
Your Hyperliquid trading fees and funding are separate. They are charged by Hyperliquid, whatever fee model a bot uses.
Common questions
Do I pay a fee if the bot loses money in a month?
No. If the month's trading profit is zero or negative, there is no fee.
Is the fee charged on open positions?
No. Only trades the bot has closed during the month are counted. Gains or losses on open positions are counted in the month they close.
Is the fee calculated after Hyperliquid's trading fees and funding?
No, it is calculated before them. The fee is 10% of the monthly trading profit from closed trades. Hyperliquid's own trading fees and funding are charged separately by Hyperliquid.
Is a losing month deducted from the next month's profit?
No. Each month is billed on its own, so a loss is not carried forward. Over several months, the total fees can therefore be more than 10% of your net profit.
What happens to the fee when I disconnect my wallet?
The same rule is applied to the trades the bot has closed so far in that month. If the result is zero or negative, there is no fee.
How and when do I pay?
Each month's bill appears in your dashboard and is sent by email. You pay it in USDC, following the payment details on the bill, before the deadline shown.
